How To Select a TV Wall Mount You've purchased your family a new LCD television that you want to wall mount. But how are you supposed to know what's the very best wall mount for your purposes? The following are a couple of things to keep in mind when you're in the market for an LCD wall mount. Once, each television and wall mount manufacturer had their own system, so it wasn't easy to decide what wall mount matched what TV. Today, however, each of the manufacturers have agreed on a core mounting system and this allows people to purchase wall mounts that are universal. This not only can save you both money and time, but the pre drilled holes at the back of the newer TVs make putting them up a great deal less tricky than it was before. Once you get an everyday universal TV wall mount kit, you'll find a wall plate that goes on the wall and brackets that go on the back of the TV. The TV wall mounts are made to fit the holes that have been pre drilled into the back of the TV display. Keep in mind that even though they are universal kits in their hardware, there are choices for mounting available that you'll want to think about before you invest in one. For instance, if you want a very clean look, check out the standard, basic mount. This should keep the TV within an inch of the wall. However, with this type, the TV can't be tilted at all so you need to be careful about where it's mounted on the wall, considering where you want the prime viewing area to be. If you're thinking you might want to adjust the angle of the TV display, then you will need to get a tilt mount. The style is much like the other model, but the TV display is affixed further from the wall. This additional space allows the TV display to be tilted. The degree of tilt is going to vary, depending on the manufacturer and model of the mount. If you opt for the tilt design you should consider the way the mount moves. Some tilt mounts will be able to be moved with just your hand because it moves on a ratchet system. There are additional models that are going to require a tool to change the TV's angle. If you think you're going to be adjusting the position of the display often, it could be worth the extra expense to get the ratchet system for easiness and accessibility of the movement. If you'd rather be able to move around the room and not have to sit on the exact same place on the sofa all of the time, you might want to get a TV wall mount that allows the television to be pulled from the wall and swiveled and tilted for nearly limitless positions. These are called cantilever wall brackets. So, when you are shopping for wall mounts for your TV, be certain that you look at each area that the television will be seen so you can get the one that will work very best for your room. |
